General Information:

Those signed up for intersession ZAPS training should have received a nameplate. That will be your entrance ticket on March 15th. Arrive at 8:45 and report the room on the nameplate with 2 number 2 pencils and a calculator. Please see the General Office with any questions or concerns.

The East Moline Swim Pool will be offering a Lifeguard Class April 6-30. Classes will be held on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Please see Coach Busch to register. Class size is limited.
If you have already signed up for the class, please see Coach Busch after school to pick up your books.

Clubs:

The Interact Club and Student Council will be collecting donations this week during lunch to support a team for the Polar Plunge. The Plunge will take place Sunday March 19th at 2pm at Jumer’s Casino in Rock Island. Donations benefit the Special Olympics.

Guidance:

Seniors, there have been 5 new Scholarships added to the Scholarship list in the guidance office. Stop in and check them out. There are quite a few Scholarships due before Spring break, so make sure you are applying!

Sports:

Volleyball-any girls that were a part of the volleyball program this past fall…….reminder, please have your SOLD orange booster raffle ticket turned into Coach VanOpdorp on your return from spring break. You have 2 weeks to get yours sold!! Please complete this task for the booster program. Thank you.

All locks must be removed and lockers emptied at the swim pool by Sunday.
All left over items will be discarded during spring break.

Today’s lunch activity is Music Games. Come down to the Auditorium hallway during lunch and play Guitar Hero and Just Dance and Musical Chairs. Bring a friend!

Tonight is the Choir Concert; Come support our choir members at their World Music program at 7pm in the Auditorium; admission is free.

Tomorrow is Wear Your Favorite Band or Artist TShirt Day and Karaoke at lunch. We are asking $1 per song or a donation of a personal hygiene item, which we pass on to YouthHope; Proceeds will go toward presenting more cool music outlets for UT and our donations to YouthHope.

Right now, it’s time for Singing Bee – finish the lyric. In honor of our Choir Concert tonight, you just need to fill in the next 22 words of this famous Music Theatre Work – yes all 22 words. Teachers, email your class’s response to Mrs. Minard. The first correct answer wins. Listen carefully….

Today is the last day to sign-up for the blood drive at lunch! Students that donate blood will get their name in a drawing for Whitey’s gift cards, so make sure to sign-up! You must be 16 or older and need to bring a student ID tomorrow. If you are 16, you will need a parent permission slip in order to donate. We need more students so sign-up today!

Today’s lunch activity is the Ukulele Circle, sponsored by the Ukulele Club. Come down to the Auditorium hallway during lunch and play your ukulele or hula along. Bring a friend!

Thanks to everyone who attended the Band Concert last night; Congratulations Band Members on a great show!

Street pianos have been a huge hit! Thank you for sharing your talent with us!

Tomorrow is Music Game Day at lunch. Tri-M members, don’t forget to bring your gaming equipment. All lunches are invited to play Wii and Xbox games, as well as Musical Chairs in the Auditorium hallway.

Tomorrow Night is the Choir Concert. They are presenting a themed concert of Music from around the World. Please join them in the Auditorium at 7pm, admission is free.

Today’s lunch activity is the Mass Sing-A-Long, sponsored by the Library. Come down to the library during lunch and belt out the best songs of all time. Bring a friend!

Tonight is the Band Concert; Come support our band members at 7pm in the Auditorium; admission is free.

Street pianos have been stationed near the front door and near the cafeteria. Use these as a tool to Create Beauty and Open Up Interaction with those around you. All students are expected to be respectful to all pianos and encouraging to all players. Mind your time, this is not an excusable tardy.

Tomorrow is Hawaiian Shirt Day and Ukulele Circle. Ukulele Club and Tri-M invite you to bring your ukuleles and play at lunch time by the Auditorium. Don’t play the uke? No problem, just support them with by wearing your Hawaiian shirt to school.

Softball tryouts for all levels will be today right after school. Please meet in Gym A and plan on being outside on the varsity field. Any questions see Coach Alonzo.

Boys swim team: The awards banquet is tomorrow night, Tuesday-February 28, in the cafeteria at 6 pm. Please turn in your sweats by tomorrow morning.
