Staff / Student Remote Access

September 14, 2011 by

UTHS now has a new remote access option for staff and students to use while working on documents away from school. This access replaces the CITRIX home access we have had in place for some time and will require some work on your home PC or laptop to install and get started.

This access and these directions should only be used at home and not at school.

To begin using the new remote access, it is probably a good idea to uninstall the Citrix Program Neighborhood program off of your computer at home first. This was the program used to connect using the old method.

After uninstalling Citrix and restarting your machine, open your browser to the address https://remote.uths.net

This will take you to a page and will request that you install a program.

Be agreeable and after the install you should be able to log in using your school network credentials.

After logging in, you will have a page that will show a monitor and it will say “UTHS Lab” above it.

Click on the monitor and another window will open and a windows 7 machine should startup. When you are done with the machine, please do a shutdown of the machine.

You will be asked if this machine can have access to your machine. That is for you to decide. This would allow you to transfer files between here and school real easy if you do give it read/write access.

You will also be asked to if you want to “enter a url”. Please say “yes” to this and when the next window opens, enter the word “apps” without the quotes and hit update.

This allows you to have access to office 2010 on the device. Students and staff should also do this in the writing lab as well.

Things could possibly be slow in the evening if we have not correctly anticipated the number of users, so we will slowly be tweaking the system until we see how many users we have on at night.

For your convenience, United Township High School has contracted with RevTrak, a national credit card payment processor, to provide you the simplicity, security and convenience of making on-line payments for Food Service. This service is available now just like last year.

We will be adding more fees and items available as the response grows.

You can pay using a VISA or MasterCard(credit/debit)

There will be a $1.50 Convenience fee for each payment you make.

Parents will be able to add money to student food service accounts, view account balances and see transaction history on-line. All you will need to do is login to Family Access and select “Food Service” under “General Information”.

You will then have the option to select “Make On-line Payment”.

On-line payments will immediately be posted to your student’s food service account. You will be making these payments at a secure site and setting up a login and password or pay each time as a guest. Your credit card transactions are secure and maintained by RevTrak, not UTHS, but all deposits are credited into UTHS Food Service in real time.
