Students and staff members, please remember to submit your nominations for the 2nd quarter John Deere special recognition awards. Students of any grade level and staff members can be nominated, but remember that only current seniors are selected to receive the award. The committee will select 2nd quarter award winners on Tuesday, December 12th, so please get your nominations in as soon as possible. Thanks!
On Friday, December 15th, the Interact Club will be hosting a taco supper before the UT/Moline basketball game. The taco supper will be from 4:30 to 7:30pm and will include 3 hard shells tacos, a dessert and a beverage. The cost is $6. Please come enjoy some tacos before you go cheer on your panthers at the basketball game! Tickets are available at the door or from any junior Rotarian.
Student Council is helping the Love Hope Foundation
This organization wishes to innovate and improve the educations of students in Zambia. We are collecting new pencils. They can be wooden or mechanical. Donations can be given during your lunch starting Monday December 11th until Friday December 15th. Let’s show our support and meet our goal of 1,500 pencils!
The lettermen’s club is sponsoring two events during finals week. These events are a great stress relief after finals so get involved UT. The ping pong tournament is Monday December 18th at 1 PM on the balcony of the boy’s gym. It is free to play and you can sign up in Mr. King’s room, 161 W. The dodgeball tournament is Tuesday December 19th at 1 PM in the upstairs gyms. Cost is $30 per team and packets can be picked in Mr. King’s room. Packets must be returned by Friday December 15th. See Mr. King if you have any questions.
The library will be hosting a special screening of The Grinch That Stole Christmas on Wednesday December 13th during the last 25 minutes of each lunch hour.

The second and final Toys For Tots fieldtrip was a great success, fun was had by all and UT was well represented by the hardworking students and staff. UT purchased $1,750 worth of toys at Farm and Fleet and the store manager Ron Fritzdonated and additional $5,000 and UT directly collected $750 worth of toys, bringing UT’s total donation to a record breaking $5,500. The hardworking UT team processed and sorted toys and bagged orders for 100 families in just 1 ½ hours. Special thanks goes out to all those who donated toys or money and the hardworking chaperones who worked shoulder to shoulder with the students, they included: Mrs. Golding,Mrs. Woods & her Husband Rick, Mrs. Mital & her son Sawyer, Mrs. Pustelnik & her son Chase, Ms. Enburg, Mrs. Leach & her two kids Addison &Brendon
Winter clothing for “The Oasis” can still be turned into the General Office or 259 North until the end of the semester.
Attention LUA: We will meet TUESDAY after school in Sra. Bramer’s room 269W to have our last meeting of 2017 and to make ornaments for Navidad. Bring a treat to share!
