The Music Department will present the annual Band and Choir Holiday Concert on Thursday, Dec. 14, at 7pm in the Auditorium. Highlights of the concert include the candlelight processional, special choreography, and songs by Edward Elgar and John Rutter by the choirs; the bands will be performing well-known tunes like “Sleigh Ride” by Leroy Anderson, plus some newer unfamiliar tunes that are sure to be a hit, such as Alfred Reed’s “Russian Christmas”. The Choir invites all alumni to come at 6pm for an Alumni Reception, followed by a 6:30pm rehearsal of “Carol of the Bells”, which will be performed on stage with current singers and alumni singers. The public is welcome; admission is free.
On Friday, December 15th, the Interact Club will be hosting a taco supper before the UT/Moline basketball game. The taco supper will be from 4:30 to 7:30pm and will include 3 hard shells tacos, a dessert and a beverage. The cost is $6. Please come enjoy some tacos before you go cheer on your panthers at the basketball game! Tickets are available at the door or from any junior Rotarian.
The lettermen’s club is sponsoring two events during finals week. These events are a great stress relief after finals so get involved UT. The ping pong tournament is Monday December 18th at 1 PM on the balcony of the boy’s gym. It is free to play and you can sign up in Mr. King’s room, 161 W. The dodgeball tournament is Tuesday December 19th at 1 PM in the upstairs gyms. Cost is $30 per team and packets can be picked in Mr. King’s room. Packets must be returned by Friday December 15th. The library will be hosting a special screening of The Grinch That Stole Christmas on Wednesday December 13th during the last 25 minutes of each lunch hour.

Seniors, 13 new Scholarships have been added to the Scholarship list in the guidance office as of 11/29. Come in and check them out.
“All boys interested in track and field who are not in a winter sport should attend an informational meeting on Thursday in room 223 – Mr. Feller’s room. The meeting will start at 3:05. Any boys who cannot attend should see Coach Holschbach in room 238 before the end of the semester.”
There will be a softball open gym tonight for all levels from 7-9, any questions see Coach Alonzo.
Panther Fans – Friday night’s Boys Basketball game with Moline is going to be electric. Between the sophomore and varsity game, the class of 1967 will be presenting a Wall of Heroes monument to be displayed at UTHS for all past UT students that lost their lives in war.
Close to 200 family members will be in attendance for this special presentation. To make things even better, the Panther Possee wants to show our support by wearing shirts that support this night!
The shirts will be sold on Thursday and Friday during lunch for our White-Out Night. The shirts will have a Panther Paw on them with the American flag on the inside. The cost of the shirt is only $6.00. Be sure to get them while they last. Let’s show the Class of 1967 our support and thanks!!!
