Scholarship Name Due Date Description
Optimist Club of Silvis 4/12/19 Three $500 scholarships will be given. Two references plus an essay detailing your goals, objectives and aspirations should accompany the application. Applications are available in the scholarship filing cabinet.
Walter Zude Scholarship 4/12/19 Awarded to a student planning on attending a vocational school, technical school, junior college or 4 year college or University to major in Computer Science. This scholarship is not based on financial need. Applications are in the scholarship filing cabinet. Applications need to be turned into Mrs. Demory in the guidance office.
Cobham Diversity Scholarship 4/13/19 Applicants must be a member of a minority group, be enrolled as a full-time STEM degree program student and have a GPA of 3.0. Applications are in the filing cabinet.
Silvis Fire Department Auxiliary Scholarship 4/15/19 $250 Scholarship awarded to a student with a 2.5 GPA or higher that lives in the Silvis Fire District. Student must be an active volunteer in the community. Scholarships are in the filing cabinet.
S.O.A. R Scholarship 4/15/19 3 $1,000 scholarships to those seniors that exemplify the S.O.A. R characteristics: Strength, Optimism, Achievement and Resolve. Applicants must fill out the application found in the contest section of WQAD.com by April 15th.
David Maccabee Instrumental Music Education Scholarship 4/19/19 $500 award given to a senior at UT with a minimum of 2.5 GPA that has participated in instrumental music courses at UTHS. Proof of enrollment and intent to major in instrumental music education in college is required. Applications are in the Scholarship filing cabinet.
Student Insights View Scholarship Program 4/22/19 13 Scholarships offered to students that plan to attend a four year college, community college or trade school. Apply online at www.student-view.com
Silvis Rocket Booster Scholarship 4/27/19 $500 awarded to a graduating senior who plans to continue their education. Applicant must have graduated from Silvis and attended there for at least 6 years. Applications are available in the scholarship filing cabinet.
*Bobby Ochoa Memorial Scholarship 5/1/19 3 $1,000 Scholarships given in honor of Bobby Ochoa. Students must complete two paragraphs on educational goals and why you should be considered for the Scholarship. The application is in the Scholarship filing cabinet.
*Silvis Rocket Booster Scholarship 5/1/19 $500 awarded to a graduating senior who plans to continue their education. Applicant must have graduated from Silvis and attended there for at least 6 years. Applications are available in the scholarship filing cabinet.
Thomas K. Evans Memorial Scholarship 5/1/19 One-time $5,000 Scholarship for a student pursuing an education in science, technology, engineering and math. Must be an East Moline or Moline resident and be attending an accredited college program. Apply by Noon on May 1st at www.americanpowerinc.com/scholarship
*Colona Grade School PTA Scholarship 5/3/19 One time $500 and one $250 award to a graduating senior who also graduated from Colona Grade School. The applicant must be in the upper 50% of their class. Applications are in the scholarship filing cabinet.
Morrie Unterschiendt Memorial Scholarship 5/29/19 This scholarship amount is based on the memorial golf tournament that is held every May in honor of Mr. Unterschiendts son who passed away after graduating from college. Applicant must have 2.5 GPA or above and attend a college or University in the Fall. Preference is given to students with financial need. Applications are in the scholarship filing cabinet. Applications need to be turned in to Mrs. Demory in the guidance office.
*Justin Sharp Memorial Scholarship 6/1/19 $1500 scholarship to a student that has a 3.25 GPA or higher, lives in Rock Island county and participates in school activities. Scholarships are available in the scholarship filing cabinet.
