Youth Mentoring
Health Scholarship

For Quad City area high school seniors who plan to pursue or are
enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study in math,
science or the medical sciences from an accredited college or
university.  Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average
of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application and be enrolled at an
accredited college or university.

Illinois PTA
Scholarship 2/15/019

1 st place scholarship for $3,000 and 2 nd place for $2,000. Must have a
GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and be enrolling in a college or University
in an education or education-related degree. Apply online at
https://illinoispta.org/scholarship/ . Make sure your 7 th semester
grades are available on the transcript that is sent.

*St. Patrick Society
Scholarship 2/21/19

$1,000 Scholarship for students attending College. The applicant
must be a relative of a St. Patrick Society member. Applications are
in the Scholarship filing cabinet in the guidance office.

AMVETS 3/1/19

There are multiple scholarships available. There are scholarships for
students who have a parent or grandparent who has served in the
military, scholarships for students interested in nursing, ROTC
scholarships and scholarships for students whose mother or father is
a deceased veteran. Applications are in the Scholarship filing
cabinet or you can apply online at www.ilamvets.org .

Arthur E. Brown
Scholarship 3/1/19

Applicant must be a graduate of UTHS and have maintained a GPA
of 2.5 or better over the first seven semesters. Student must also plan
on enrolling full time at a college, university or vocational school.
Applications are available in the scholarship filing cabinet. Please
return to Mrs. Demory in the guidance office by March 1 st .

Teaching Scholarship
3/1/19

The Scholars program is open to residents of Illinois with a GPA of
2.5 or higher and qualifying SAT or ACT score. This Scholarship is
for students planning on going into Education and staying in Illinois
to teach. This program will assist with College tuition, job placement
assistance after college, and mentoring during college and the first

IH Mississippi Valley
Credit Union 3/1/19

22 $1,000 scholarships are being offered. The student is required to
be a member of the IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union.

*Township Officials
of Illinois 3/1/19

Seven $1,500 scholarships will be given to high school seniors who
attend Illinois colleges and Universities in 2014. Students must have
a minimum GPA of 3.0 and must be US Citizen. Applicants must
have a history of extra-curricular activities where leadership was
exhibited. Applications are available in the scholarship filing cabinet.

Ascentra Credit
Union Scholarship 3/2/19

Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to a senior student that has
their own account established at Ascentra Credit Union. You are
ineligible to apply for the scholarship if you have a family member
that works at Ascentra. The application is available in the
scholarship filing cabinet in the guidance office.

Adam D. Smith
Memorial
Scholarship

3/7/19

This one-time $500 scholarship will be awarded to a UT Senior who
plans to continue his or her education in a field in which helps others
to live a better life. Examples would be teaching, social work,
political science, counseling, nursing, etc. Must have a 2.5 GPA or
higher. Applications are in the scholarship filing cabinet. Please
turn into Mrs. Demory by March 7 th .

Alvin C. Tingle
Culinary Arts
Memorial
Scholarship

3/7/19

Awarded to a graduating senior that exhibits positive personal
qualities and has a 2.0 GPA or higher. The applicant must plan to
continue their education in the culinary arts/food service field.
Applications are in the scholarship filing cabinet in the guidance
office. Please turn application in to Mrs. Demory by March 7.

Carl Killam
Scholarship 3/7/19

Scholarship awarded to a high school senior with a minimum GPA
of 3.0 and who is going to major in business in college. Applications
are in the scholarship filing cabinet. Please return application to
Mrs. Demory in the guidance office no later than March 7 th .

Doug Reynolds
Rotary Scholarship 3/7/19

Applicant must have a GPA between 2.0 and 3.0 and must plan to
attend Black Hawk College for their first two years and then transfer
to an accredited college or University to finish their Bachelor degree.
Applications are in the Scholarship filing cabinet and need to be
turned in to Mrs. Demory in the guidance office by March 11 th .

Scholarship

Applicant must have a 2.5 GPA or better. Preference will be given to
students who are going to Augustana, Washington, University of
Michigan and Iowa State. However, you may still apply if you are
not going to one of these schools. Applications are available in the
scholarship filing cabinet. Applications must be returned to Mrs.
Demory by March 7, 2019.

UT Class of 1973 3/7/19

United Township class of 1973 is giving a $500 scholarship to a UT
student with a 2.5 GPA or better that is planning on continuing their
education after high school. The student must have shown
perseverance and worked through an adversarial situation to meet
their educational goals during high school. Application is in the
scholarship cabinet and must be turned in to Mrs. Demory.

Sorority, Inc. 3/15/19

Applicant must be a female of African-American descent and have a
3.0 GPA. Applicant must be accepted to a two or four year degree
granting institution. Applications are in the filing cabinet.

Two $1,000 Scholarships will be awarded in 2019
Graduate of Class of 2019 from Moline High School, Alleman High
School, Rock Island High School or United Township High School
Minimum 2.8 grade point
Applicant must have been involved in at least one service-oriented
activity or organization in his or her school, community, or place of

Five $1,000 scholarships to students that demonstrate academic
excellence, exhibit outstanding contributions to their school and
community, and are current credit union members. Applications are

*S.A.M.E. (Military
engineers) 3/27/19

Applicant must be enrolled at an accredited Engineering or science
college (4 year) and be majoring in Science or Engineering. GPA
must be a 3.2 or higher. Scholarship application is in the filing
cabinet.

Irma Jones
Scholarship 3/28/19

Scholarship awarded to a high school senior that has completed
coursework in the Family and Consumer Science Field or Health
Occupations field. Student must plan to attend a community college,
College or University. Applications are in the Scholarship filing
cabinet. Please return applications to Mrs. Demory in the
guidance office by March 28th.

Rock Island County
Farm Bureau
Foundation

3/29/19

Applicants must be members of the Rock Island County Farm
bureau. Applicants do NOT need to be pursuing a degree in

Kiwanis UTHS
Scholarship 3/31/19

Applicant must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher and be a member in
good standing with the Kiwanis Key Club at UT. Applications are in
the Scholarship filing cabinet.

P. E. O Chapter KT
Scholarship 4/1/19

$500 award to female senior high school student. Must have a
minimum GPA of 3.0 and be in good standing during the current
year. Applications are in the scholarship filing cabinet.

Society of Italian
Americans 4/1/19

$1,000 Scholarship to a student enrolling into a College or
University after high school. Applicants must have one Italian
Ancestor in order to apply. Recipient will be chosen by GPA and
written essays. Scholarship applications must be requested from

Benevolent
Scholarship

4/3/19

Two $500 scholarships awarded to a student who plans to continue
their education at a four-year college or University, a community
college or vocational school. Student must plan on majoring in Law
Enforcement. Applications are located in the scholarship filing
cabinet. Applications must be turned into Mrs. Demory in the
guidance office by April 3.

Jeff Leibovitz
Scholarship 4/4/19

Two $500 awards are given out. Must have proof of enrollment in a
junior college, College or University. Applicant will exhibit positive
personal qualities and participate in at least one sport. Must have a
2.5 GPA. Applications are in the scholarship filing cabinet.
Applications must be turned into Mrs. Demory in the guidance
office by April 4 th .

Walter Zude
Scholarship 4/12/19

Awarded to a student planning on attending a vocational school,
technical school, junior college or 4 year college or University to
major in Computer Science. This scholarship is not based on
financial need. Applications are in the scholarship filing cabinet.
Applications need to be turned into Mrs. Demory in the guidance
office.

Robert Brissman
Scholarship 4/13/19

$250 scholarship awarded to a student with a 3.0 GPA or above. The
student will continue their education at a University or community
college. Award will be given to a student that participated in tennis,
soccer or theatre and has done some volunteer work in our
community. Please turn in applications to Mrs. Demory in the
guidance office no later than March 12 th .

$250 Scholarship awarded to a student with a 2.5 GPA or higher that
lives in the Silvis Fire District. Student must be an active volunteer
in the community. Scholarships are in the filing cabinet.

Scholarship 4/15/19

3 $1,000 scholarships to those seniors that exemplify the S.O.A. R
characteristics: Strength, Optimism, Achievement and Resolve.
Applicants must fill out the application found in the contest section
of WQAD.com by April 15 th .

Scholarship

5/29/19

This scholarship amount is based on the memorial golf tournament
that is held every May in honor of Mr. Unterschiendts son who
passed away after graduating from college. Applicant must have 2.5
GPA or above and attend a college or University in the Fall.
Preference is given to students with financial need. Applications are
in the scholarship filing cabinet. Applications need to be turned
in to Mrs. Demory in the guidance office.
