UTHS/Willard Smith Memorial Hall of Fame

To be eligible for the UTHS/Willard Smith Memorial Hall of Fame a person or team must be nominated.
Nomination forms are available in the General Office, on our website  (Alumni-UT Hall of Fame), or call 752-1633
to receive a nomination form through the mail.

UTHS/Willard Smith Memorial Hall of Fame

Hall of Fame Criteria (3 categories):

1.      Must have been a UTHS student-athlete/team who was recognized for outstanding athletic performance/achievement.

2.      Graduates of UTHS who have brought honor to UTHS by their post high school athletic endeavors, academic accomplishments,
         professional careers, and/or civic achievements.

3.      Those individuals who have made significant/outstanding contributions to UTHS.

Nominations may be submitted to the UTHS General Office until the last school day in October of each year.

The UTHS/Willard Smith Memorial Hall of Fame board will meet during November.  New candidates are discussed.  Previous candidates are reviewed.
Each member has 7 votes.  A candidate must receive 2/3 of a majority vote (seven) from the committee to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Candidates shall become eligible for induction five years after graduation.

If a candidate has not received a vote for 5 years then he or she will be removed from the ballot.  If a candidate is removed they may be re-nominated.

The induction ceremony will be held at a home basketball game in January or February.

The current Hall of Fame Board Members are:  Chairman Jerry Greer, Carl Bond, Gordy Cornelius, Jim Wesselmann, Steve Verdick, Amy Williams,
Jay Morrow, Fred Segura, David Ross, and Mike Tracey.
