The premiere showing of this year’s ten minute plays occurred Tuesday night, and it was quite the success. This year there are seven plays, each written by a UT student and ranging from comedic to dramatic. For those who did not attend the first showing, there will be two more opportunities to see the hard work of those involved: Friday night at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. in the UTHS auditorium. Don’t miss out on this chance to support actors, writers, directors, and crew members for only $3!

Plays include “Hypochondriacs” by Jessica Zabala, “The Show Must Go On” by Anna DaSilva, “Even Your Friends” by Grace Downey, “The Officer and the Crook” by Dillon Rhodes, “The Nicest Demon” by Crysania Bush, “Stream of Consciousness” by America Cortes, and, last but certainly not least, “Two Half Notes Don’t Make a Whole Heart” by Nayla Zamora.

Amaris Oliva-Vandewalle is part of the cast, and she plays some important roles in the show. She is in “Even Your Friends,” “The Nicest Demon,” and “Stream of Consciousness.” Amaris says, “I love the characters that I play because they’re all so different from each other! It was a lot of hard work, but it was exciting, and it felt good to see how happy the writers and directors were watching their shows come to life on stage!”

She and the rest of those who worked on the show would love to have a large audience to see just how amazing these shows have become due to long practices after school and the effort put in by every single person involved.
