Seniors: Senior Packets will be distributed in English classes on Wednesday, November 8. Please complete all, or as much of the packet as possible, and return it to your English teacher or Mrs. Green in 126E by 3:15 next Wednesday, November 15. Skyline staff has an approaching deadline and late submissions will not be accepted. , senior packets must be returned by 3:15 on November 15. Seniors who do not have a first semester English class may pick up a senior packet from Mrs. Green in 126E or from Ellen in the Student Store during your lunch period STARTING on THURSDAY. If you have a first semester English class, please get your copy from your English teacher, not Ellen or Mrs. Green.

The deadline to preorder a 2023-24 Yearbook is quickly approaching. December 11 will be here before you know it, so order your book today. The cost is $50. You may order online through Skyward or in the General Office with cash or check made payable to UTHS. Believe me; it's going to be a great book!

Yearbook pictures for Clubs and Organizations will be taken next week in the auditorium before, during, and after school. Please check with your club or organization advisor or coach for the day and time. A schedule has also been posted on the window of Mrs. Green and Mrs. Gorgal's room, 126E. Stop by to check it out. See you all there!

"Tonight, the UTHS bands invites you to our Fall Concert. It starts at 7pm with our concert band, and our symphonic band will follow at approximately 7:30pm. It's absolutely FREE! We hope to see you there!"

GUIDANCE:

The United States Marine Corps will be visiting UT at 10:00 a.m. in the Library.  Each school year the Marine Corps presents awards to students in recognition for their commitment to excellence in sports, academics, and music.  

Come learn about the Marine Corps' Naval Reserve Officers Training Program (NROTC) and its Officer Program for students with the desire to be leaders, the Marine Corps Band that offers students opportunity to perform throughout the US and internationally.  Also, for students wanting to serve their country while living at home, there is the Marine Corps Reserves.  In addition, the Corps has over 300 different technical skills to choose from.  Interested students are encouraged to attend this morning's information session and learn more.

Black Hawk College is having another free application week. Apply free from November 13th through 17th using the code FREEAPP1123.

New scholarships have been posted. Check them out in the counseling office or in the counseling google classroom. See Mrs. Drish if you have any questions. 

The FAFSA workshop will take place on Thursday, Nov. 9.  Learn about what is new with FAFSA for 2024.  However, this workshop is especially important for those students graduating early in Dec 2023.  Students graduating early in Dec will complete the old FAFSA.  Sign up ithe Counseling Office

CLUBS:

Switzerland, France, Italy and Spain Trip 
Ever dreamed of getting to the top of a Swiss Mountains? Have you wanted to walk the beaches on the French Riviera, view the beauty of Provance, explore Lake Como in Italy and bicycle through Barcelona? We have the adventure for you! If you are interested in traveling to Europe in June of 2025 please make plans to attend the informational meeting on Wednesday, November 15th at 6:30 in the Commons. Parents are encouraged to attend with you.  There are a limited number of spots. Check out the posters around school and see Mrs Monson in room 223E for more information. 

LGBT+ club is having a meeting next week after school on Wednesday November 15th. The club will meet in the auditorium right after school for pictures at 3:10pm and then head to Miss Williams room in 125E for a guest speaker. Let's try to get as many people as possible there for the group photo!

The Festival of Trees parade needs more participants to carry banners. The parade is on Saturday, November 18th at 10am. If you are interested in helping, see Mrs. Drish. Participants earn a free ticket to the Festival of Trees.

There is a student council meeting in the auditorium this Friday at 7:30! Come join us for donuts and heavy weight prize drawing!

SPORTS:

Are you interested in joining the Boys UTHS Swimming and Diving team?! The boys swim and dive season begins November 20th and swimmers/divers of all abilities are welcome to join. Anyone interested in joining the team can stop by the pool after school any day to speak with Coach Mike. There will be an informational meeting held at the swimming pool for all interested swimmers and divers at 3:15 - 3:45 pm on Thursday, November 16th.
