UT will be participating in the 27th annual US Marine Corps Toys For Tots drive. This year over 6,000 children will register for assistance, which translates to over 29,000 gifts generously given to help the less fortunate in the Quad Cities. You can help by donating a new unwrapped toy; simply drop it off in in the General Office or Library by Wednesday December 6th. Two evening field trips open to all UT students to the Toys For Tots Distribution Center are planned for Tuesday November 28th and Wednesday December 6th, but space is limited to only “25” students per night; pick up permission slips in the library. If you know of a family who may be in need help this Christmas they will need to register Online at the US Marine Corps Toys for Tots website Registration ends November 24th.
Attention all seniors! This Friday, November 17, Merredyth with Herff Jones will be here taking in person orders for cap and gowns and/or accessories. If you ordered any extra accessories or clothing, she may have that available for pick up. She will be available from 7:30am - 8:30am and then again from 10:45am - 1:30pm. If you have not ordered your cap and gown, this is your opportunity to do it in person. After Friday, you will have to order online.
GUIDANCE:
Black Hawk College is having another free application week. Apply free from November 13th through 17th using the code FREEAPP1123.
New scholarships have been posted. Check them out in the counseling office or in the counseling google classroom. See Mrs. Drish if you have any questions.
CLUBS:
The Festival of Trees parade needs more participants to carry banners. The parade is on Saturday, November 18th at 10am. If you are interested in helping, see Mrs. Drish. Participants earn a free ticket to the Festival of Trees.
"Gamer's Club will meet this Friday from 3 to 5 in 225E."
This year’s blood drive will be on November 21st (Next Tuesday). If you are interested in participating in the blood drive, signups will be during your lunch period Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week.
SPORTS:
Are you interested in joining the Boys UTHS Swimming and Diving team?! The boys swim and dive season begins November 20th and swimmers/divers of all abilities are welcome to join. Anyone interested in joining the team can stop by the pool after school any day to speak with Coach Mike. There will be an informational meeting held at the swimming pool for all interested swimmers and divers at 3:15 - 3:45 pm today Thursday, November 16th. Please email Coach Mike Firth at mfirth@uths.net with any questions about the team!
