Students, 
Please make sure you ride the appropriate bus that you are assigned to when you arrive and leave school. This will help ease overcrowding and other potential issues. If you continue to ride a bus without permission from administration, further consequences including a bus suspension may occur.

GUIDANCE:

UTHS is offering free SAT test preparation seminars to all Juniors through Zaps.  The seminars will be held in the commons on Monday, March 11th from 9am-3 pm or Monday and Tuesday March 25th and 26th from 6:30pm to 9:00pm both days.  Sign up in the counseling office through the end of February. 

"Alpha Kappa Omega, a national Black Sorority, is offering scholarship opportunities to African-American female students graduating in 2024 or those students who graduated in December 2023.  Applications are due March 1, 2024.  Interested students should see Mr. James Davis, UT College & Career Advisor."  

"John Deere has limited openings for its Quad City Software Engineer Apprenticeship 2024 Program.  Registration is open until Friday, March 1.  Interested students should contact Mr. James DuPage, Computer Science Teacher, your Guidance Counselor, or Mr. James Davis, College & Career Advisor.
Students must be nominated by Mr. DuPage only, and register by March 1, 2024.  See Mr. DuPage or Mr. Davis for the link to register.  
This apprenticeship opportunity will require students to submit a RESUME, and selected students will participate in a telephone screening conducted by John Deere's professional staff.

Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville will be at UTHS on Monday, February 26 from 10:30to 11:30.  The college visit will be held in the Center Conference Room.  Interested students are encouraged to sign up in the Guidance Office to meet with the representative.

CLUBS:

Foster's Voice will be hosting the Foster's Voice Night for Changemakers in the Commons on Wednesday from 6 to 8 Pm. It is open to all UT students and their families as well as all of the Feeder School's students and families. Activities will include therapy dogs, negativity knockout, and much more! Please join us to help fight the Stigma around mental health awareness and have a lot of fun!

LGBT+ club are selling buttons and stickers for any staff or student who wants to show their pride or support for the LGBT+ community. The buttons and stickers cost $1 each and you can purchase them from Miss Williams in room 125E any time of the day, including before or after school.
SPORTS:

Baseball Tryouts! 
All levels meet at the varsity baseball field Monday, February 26 and 27th, 3:30-5:30.
Must have physical turned in to try out.

 "Boys tennis starts next Monday 3:30PM at the tennis courts. All students must have a valid physical to try out."

Softball tryouts for the 2024 season will be Monday February 26, Tuesday February 27 from 3:25-5:15 on the varsity softball field. Please store your softball equipment in the Gym A locker room before school. Any questions see Coach Alonzo or Coach Tapia.

Tryouts for Girls Soccer will be on Monday, February 26 and Tuesday February 27 from
5:30pm to 7:30pm at Soule Bowl for all levels. You must have a current physical to tryout.
