The Polar Plunge is next Tuesday, March 5 at 3:30pm at UT swimming pool. Sign your team up in the Special Services office with Shari Johnson. Deadline is Friday March 1. It is a great event and the Special Olympic athletes enjoy seeing you root them on. 

Tri-M Music Honor Society is hosting "Music in Our School Week" next week. Keep your eye out for signing up for the Rock & Roll Dodgeball tournament which will take place Thursday, March 7, from 6-8pm; and also the Scavenger Hunt that will begin on Tuesday, March 5. There will be special dress days and lunch activities every day.

CLUBS:

There will be a Student Council Meeting this Friday at 7:30 am in the auditorium! Come join us to help plan the events for the rest of the year!
Gamer's Club will meet this Friday from 3 to 5 in room 149N."

LGBT+ club are still selling buttons and stickers for any staff or student who wants to show their pride or support for the LGBT+ community. The buttons and stickers cost $1 each and you can purchase them from Miss Williams in room 125E any time of the day, including before or after school.

GUIDANCE:

"Alpha Kappa Omega, a national Black Sorority, is offering scholarship opportunities to African-American female students graduating in 2024 or those students who graduated in December 2023.  Applications are due March 1, 2024.  Interested students should see Mr. James Davis, UT College & Career Advisor."  

To celebrate the leap year, Black Hawk College is having a free application day today February 29. Go to the website to get the code and apply free.

"Students, the representative from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission will be at UT this morning from 9 - 11:30.  If you need to start or finish completing the FAFSA, you should plan on meeting with the representative.  Sign up is in the Guidance Office.  The representative will meet with students in the Center Conference Room."

"Students working on their resumes for the John Deere Computer Software Apprenticeship Program should email Mr. Davis their finished resume by noon today.  Mr. Davis will make his final edits and return resumes today by 3:30."

SPORTS:

Wednesday March 6th the Boys and Girls varsity basketball teams will be playing our Special Olympics Basketball team at 6pm in the boy’s gym. Hope to see you there.
