"Congrats to the UT Marching Panthers! The band competed in the Geneseo Maple Leaf Classic this last weekend and got 2nd place in class AAA, outscoring 9 other groups and almost capturing the Percussion Award missed by half a point, out of 100! Congrats UTMP 109!
Attention Students: Starting after Fall Break, students that arrive to school after 8:30 am will check in at the tardy kiosk and then report to Students Services. Without a parent call, this will be considered a period truancy.
Next week is Homecoming week. We encourage all of our students to participate in the activities, attend events and bring those themed outfits. It is still a week of school so normal rules apply. Remember that we don’t allow body and face paint or inappropriate outfits while at school. Be safe; make good decisions and have fun showing your Panther Pride.
CLUBS:
The LGBT+ club is hosting its first event of the year this t week. The purpose of Ally Week is to bring awareness and support to the LGBT+ students and staff here at UT. To participate all you have to do is wear the colors for each day to show your support!
The theme days for Ally Week are:
Wednesday – YELLOW or GREEN
Thursday – BLUE
Friday – PURPLE OR PINK
Tri-M Music Honor Society is holding the next chapter meeting on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 7:30am, in the Choir room.
UTHS FCA is having a meeting next Tuesday, September 30th at 7 am. Meet us in Gym A, enjoy some snacks and fellowship! Emma will be giving her lesson on the wedding at Cana. Hope to see you there!
"Hey Honey Bees! The Fall Retreat will be on Saturday, October 19th and you need to respond in the google classroom and let us know if you will be attending! We have tons of awesome things planned for that day, and we need to know how many Queens to plan for. Please respond by next Friday or you will be marked as "not attending"."
GUIDANCE:
"Seniors, ALL Seniors! This message is directed to you.The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) representative, Madeleine Schaefer, will visit UTHS this coming Thursday. Ms. Schaefer will be at UT from 9 to 11:30. She will continue to visit United Township every Thursday at the same times unless she is sick or there is NO school. Seniors, this is SERIOUS. If you have not begun getting your FSA ID#, you should visit with Ms. Schaefer as soon as you can. remember, you cannot receive any FREE money, including Grants, Work Study, and money from the college or university of your choice (known as institutional money), Federal Student Loan or Parent Plus Loan without completing the FAFSA form. Seniors, it is time to get busy. Eight months from now, you will not be at UTHS. Start planning for your future now! Visit with Ms. Schaefer and get busy with the FAFSA. Please sign up in the Guidance Office. If you have questions, see your Guidance Counselor or visit with Mr. Davis, UT College & Career Advisor."
Students, the University of Iowa will be at UT today. They will meet with students during Period 7. The University of Iowa is one of the best liberal arts schools in the United States and has a world-class medical center. Students, it is where great stories begin. It's time to start yours! Sign up to visit with the rep. Let's show her what a UTHS student looks like. Little known fact, Gene Wilder and Ashton Kutcher graduated from the University of Iowa. Interested students should sign up in the Guidance Office."
"Students, Black Hawk College and the National University of Health Sciences, the nation's premier institution for health science education, will be at UT today. Black Hawk College will visit with students from 10 to 11. The National University of Health Sciences will visit with students during Period 5, from 11:38 to 12:25. If you have not signed up to visit these schools, you still have time. Sign up in the Guidance Office. If you have questions about the integrity of each school's programs, speak with your teachers, visit with your Guidance Counselor, or see Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor."
