Are you interested in learning more about how school government works?  The UTHS Board of Education has decided to start a student Board of Education Liaison member.  2 students will be selected through an interview process and will be seated beginning at the January 13, 2025 board meeting. A job description and application is available in the General Office, as well as on the UTHS website.  Applications will be accepted through 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 7.

Attention Seniors and Senior Parents/Guardians: Senior Baby ads are currently available for purchase. Order forms can be found in the General Office, Mrs. Green and Mrs. Gorgal's room (126E), and on the uths website. For full details, see the order form or contact Mrs. Green at skyline@uths.net. The November 8th deadline is quickly approaching, so reserve your senior's spot today and remind them how proud you are of their accomplishments!

Pre-ordered yearbooks for the 2024-2025 school year are available for purchase for $50 in the General Office and the UTHS website. The reduced price will remain in effect until mid-December. The price then increases to $60 thereafter. There will be a limited amount of books for sale at the end of the year, so please preorder your book today to guarantee yourself a copy of this memory keepsake. You DO NOT want to miss out on this one! 

GUIDANCE:

Seniors - several scholarships are now open for applications. Please check the list in the counseling google classroom or stop by the counseling office to look at the list. 

"Students, the United States Navy will be at UT today.  They will be in the Commons area during ALL lunch periods.  If you are interested in finding out about opportunities in the US Navy, please stop by the table to talk with the Navy recruiter."

"Greenville University, a small, private university located in Greenville, IL, will be at UTHS today to meet with students during Period 4.  Interested students are encouraged to sign up in the Guidance Office to meet with the university representative."

Juniors and seniors - the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) Test will be given to UTHS students on Wednesday, November 13.  If you want to take the ASVAB, please sign up in the Guidance Office.  Interested students are encouraged to go online and take the practice tests for ASVAB. All branches of the military use the ASVAB to gauge your knowledge and skills in 9 key areas for placement. If you have questions regarding the ASVAB, please see your Guidance Counselor or Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor."

CLUBS:

The UT FCA is having an open gym this upcoming Saturday, November 9th. This will be outside of UT at Wildwood Church in East Moline from 2-4 pm.  Come join us for games and fun! Scott Kochuyt will be speaking at the event! Snacks will be provided so bring a friend! Hope to see you there!!

SPORTS:

There will be a boys basketball meeting after school in the commons today Wednesday, November 6th for anyone interested in trying out.

All students wrestling this season - must attend a mandatory meeting this Thursday after school in the Wrestling Room.  See Coach Fotos in Room 205 if you have any questions.  Again, this meeting is mandatory.  

“Are you looking for a winter sport to join? Would you like to learn a lifetime activity and meet new people?  The girls bowling team is still looking for a few girls that would like to bowl. Coach Krack will be in the cafeteria during all lunch periods on Thursday November 7th with information about joining the team. If interested, stop by and speak with her on Thursday!”
