CLUBS:

We are thrilled to launch Women Rising, a female empowerment club dedicated to supporting young women, LGBTQ+ members, and allies! Our mission is to create a safe, inclusive space where young adults can come together to learn, grow, and advocate for their rights. Through workshops, discussions, and community projects, Women Rising empowers members to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and champion equality. Whether you're seeking mentorship, want to spark change, or simply find a supportive community, Women Rising is here for you! Our first meeting will be Wednesday January 8th from 3:15-4:15 in Room 187V. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Jackson at mjackson@uths.net or look for the fliers in the hallway for more information. Join us to make your voice heard and rise together!

Auto body and Auto Mechanics is a fascinating field that combines creativity, technical skills, and a passion for cars. Many young people dream of building their own vehicles, and the Gearheads club provides a fantastic opportunity to turn that dream into reality. Members gather in the auto mechanics lab every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:15 to 5:15 to work on transforming a Ford Explorer into a dragster. This project not only teaches essential skills like problem solving and teamwork but also introduces students to concepts such as performance testing on a dynamometer, or "dyno," which measures the power output of the vehicle. Under the guidance of experienced instructors like Mr. Ron and Mr. Thirtyacre, students can explore potential careers as Auto body repair technicians or mechanics while enjoying the thrill of automotive innovation. Whether you're a car enthusiast or just curious about the automotive world, the Gearheads club welcomes you to join and learn!
