On Friday, January 17th, all 9th through 11th grade students will be taking the Pre-ACT test. Seniors will not attend on the 17th. Normal bus pickup in the morning. Students will be dismissed at 11:15. Grab and Go Lunch provided.
Students will need their FULLY charged chrome book, a calculator, and something to write with. Testing room locations will be posted starting January 13.
ACC Career Day
Attention Sophomore Students.
On Thursday, January 23rd, all Sophomore students will be participating in the Area Career Center’s Career Day.
Sophomores are reminded to report to Gym A during their regularly scheduled PE, Health, and Driver’s Education classes. Sophomores who have PE, Health, and Driver’s Education period 5 will receive a pass to attend the Career Day, during their normally scheduled lunch and take lunch during 5th period.
CLUBS:
Auto body and Auto Mechanics is a fascinating field that combines creativity, technical skills, and a passion for cars. Many young people dream of building their own vehicles, and the Gearheads club provides a fantastic opportunity to turn that dream into reality. Members gather in the auto mechanics lab every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:15 to 5:15 under the guidance of experienced instructors like Mr. Ron and Mr. Thirtyacre, students can explore potential careers as Auto body repair technicians or mechanics while enjoying the thrill of automotive innovation. Whether you're a car enthusiast or just curious about the automotive world, the Gearheads club welcomes you to join and learn!
Unified Sports will be meeting in front of the auditorium at 7:30 on Tuesday, January 14th. We will be discussing upcoming events. Hope to see you there.
Attention Tri-M members: We will meet Tuesday, Jan 14th, at 7:30am. Wear your club shirt for the yearbook picture, then we'll continue our meeting in the Choir Room to sign up to help with Contest and Music in our School week, and we'll distribute Senior honor cord information.
The following clubs will have their group yearbook picture retaken on Tuesday, January 14. The morning session includes TRI-M, NHS, SNHS, and Unified Sports. The afternoon session includes Peer Mentors, Latinos Unidos, and Spanish Club. Club members are encouraged to talk to their advisor for their scheduled time. All pictures will be taken in the auditorium. Hope to see you all there!
GUIDANCE:
Seniors, please check out the new scholarships available. For a complete list, visit the counseling office or the counseling google classroom. Continue to check for new scholarships on a weekly basis this month!
Mr. Davis has a gift for the first student to his office who has applied, been accepted, and plans to attend St. Ambrose University. You will need to bring verification that you have applied and been accepted. Remember, one gift to the first student! See Mr. Davis.'
SPORTS:
There will be a mandatory girl’s track meeting Wednesday January 15th after school in the commons. It will be about 20 minutes. If you cannot attend because you are currently in a winter sport, see Mrs. Larson in room 242N.
Attention Panther Posse
If you plan to attend tonight's Boys Basketball game at Rock Island, please be aware of their school policies.
1. There will be no bag policy. Therefore, no backpacks or purses will be allowed.
2. You must enter at the new entrance on the south side of the school through a metal detector.
3. You must have your school ID to be admitted into the facility.
4. The student section is upstairs on the southwest corner of the fieldhouse above the UTHS bench. Remember it's upstairs and not behind our bench.
5. Students are to leave the fieldhouse immediately following the game. Games are at 5:30 and 7:00 - Thank you!
