CLUBS:

Good morning Panthers! Panther Pant is fast approaching! It will be a few weeks after we get back from break on Wednesday, April 23rd from 6-8pm. Remember, this is one of Student Council's biggest fundraisers of the year. This means that the more successful the Panther Pant is, the better events like Homecoming and Dance Marathon will be. Registration is open now! Look for flyers in the hallways to sign up. Be sure to tell your friends and family! See you there!

Did you know that sleep is important to eye health? While we sleep, our eyes are able to:

· Naturally repair damaged cells and tissues

· replenish tear film that protects and lubricates the eye,

· and get the oxygen boost that is important to optimal eye function.

When we do not get enough sleep, we are at risk for dry eyes, eyestrain, blurred vision, eye twitching, dark circles, and even increased risk of developing serious eye conditions that result in vision loss. The screens that we use regularly throughout the day emit blue light that tricks our brains into thinking it is daytime, which stops the body from releasing melatonin. Melatonin is a hormone in our bodies that helps regulate sleep. If you are always feeling tired, having difficulty concentrating, not remembering things or experiencing mood changes, consider changing your screen habits before bed. You might find that limiting or avoiding the use of screens can lead to improved sleep, which is good for many reasons including your eye health. Be sure to turn your attention to the TV monitors for the H.O.P.E. Club’s Mindful Monday highlight for ideas on what you can do before bed instead of using your phone, computer, or watching TV. Your eyes will thank you!
